Really, i couldn't believe it when i got that call from school. It was shocking, like unbelievable. It really really hurt me. You were like a sister to me. I'm always with your brother Victor, and not once has my boy ever layed a tear in his life. Untill this day, when you went away. You were Victors only sister. You were the one he would trust besides me. You were the one he would always talk about, and just bring up. It hurts me as much as it hurt your brother, really because i felt like we were family really. I'm always at your house. We would get down and shit. We would puff till there was no more.. But now you are gone. You are in a better place now. I promise i will take care of your brother as best as i can. I love you guys, you guys are family to me.. It really hurts me, i'm tearing as i write this. You created a beautiful baby that will grow and be raised by a good family. I know your mom and your family will make the best of her. I'll always be here on your familys side forever.. Those pussies are gona regret what they did Vanessa. It's not fair at all. This was a big impact on your family and mine. Vanessa i want to tell you now, i have much love for you. Victor and I are gona stay strong because i know what your thinking right now, you don't want us crying at all. I know you already. You were the shit Vanessa. I still can't believe it happend. It was so fast and out of nowhere. But life is life. And stuff happens. Forever in my heart, Vanessa M. Romero.
- Tucson police have identified the 18-year-old woman whose body was found this morning in an east-side park lake.
The body of Vanessa M. Romero was found at Lakeside park about 5 a.m. with obvious signs of trauma. The park is at 8300 E. Stella Road.
A person walking along the lake noticed the body sticking out of the water and called 911. Officers pulled the body from the water and pronounced Romero dead at the scene, police said.
The death is being labeled a homicide because the body had "obvious signs of trauma," said Officer Chuck Rydzak, a police spokesman.
Investigators haven't determined when the woman died, but they assume it happened overnight, Rydzak said.
Police are looking for anyone who might have been at the lake, which is popular with local fishing enthusiasts, on Tuesday night, Rydzak said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-crime
I didn't know Vanessa, but I live near where they found her. The more I hear about her story and the kind of person she was the more heartbroken I become. Your journal entry here has made me realize how wonderful and loving of a person she was. My heart goes out to you guys who lost a mother, daughter, sister and friend. I know I may be a stranger, but I still believe justice must be served for the bastard or bastards that did this. They will find whoever did this. Stay strong and give that baby a warm hug from me.
